We are proud to announce the official publication of The APRC Journal, the inaugural edition of APRC’s research journal, featuring 20 research papers produced by undergraduate students at Sciences Po Le Havre.

The journal brings together work from political science, economics, history, sociology and international relations, united by a shared focus on the Asia-Pacific.

Its topics span some of the most pressing and underexplored questions facing the region, from maritime sovereignty and statelessness to China’s influence in the Global South and electoral politics in Southeast Asia. Together, they contribute to ongoing debates and, in many cases, open new ones.

Publishing this journal in our first year is an important milestone for APRC and for the students whose work appears in it. For many, this is their first published research. We hope it is far from their last.

Events

APRC Research Symposium.

On 23 April 2026, fifteen student research groups presented work on the Asia-Pacific in a fast-paced format of three-minute presentations followed by two-minute questions and answers.

The APRC Research Symposium brought together 15 student research groups, showcasing the depth, diversity and ambition of undergraduate research at Sciences Po Le Havre.

We were honoured to welcome a jury composed of David Camroux of CERI, Gretchen Allen-Mestrallet and Kevin Brookes. Their engagement and feedback helped make the symposium a meaningful experience for every group.

The event reflects APRC’s founding aim: to unlock the academic resources available at Sciences Po Le Havre, including its regional specialisation, faculty and intellectually curious student community, and direct them towards credible junior research. With guidance from mentors and faculty, students engaged seriously with complex political, economic and social questions across the Asia-Pacific.
